Welcome to Bluegrass Horseshoeing School, located in beautiful Prestonsburg, KY. Prestonsburg is located in the Appalachian Mountains and is home to a large and diverse horse community. BHS owners Dan Helton, CJF and Kim Helton are excited to bring you a horseshoeing school designed by a 33-year working Farrier for future working Farriers. Bluegrass Horseshoeing School offers it's students a curriculum designed around what Farrier's encounter in their day-to-day working lives. Your learning experience will have a well-balanced approach when it comes to forging, live shoeing and class work. Our students have our full support while attending school and after graduation. Our student's success equals success for BHS, and our graduates leave school with the confidence of knowing they received the education to prepare them for running a quality Farrier business. We are dedicated to keeping our courses affordable and always having enough instructors, so our students never feel alone in their education. Our students will always have enough live horses to shoe on a daily basis, and the experience this offers is invaluable to the learning process. We are so excited to announce that our new campus in Prestonsburg, KY has opened. Our students have 24-hour access to the shoeing barn located just a few feet away from the new bunkhouse. BHS is now on a beautiful 8-acre piece of land with our new shoeing barn, bunkhouse and Eastern Kentucky Farrier Supply stocking their shelves for your arrival at school. We wanted our students to have everything at their fingertips to be successful while attending Bluegrass Horseshoeing School.
